THE CAMPAIGN

Thanks to the generosity of viewers 15 to Life’s director and Kenneth’s lawyer were able to set up a trust fund for Kenneth Young. Now ten years after filming Kenneth’s re-sentencing, he is scheduled to be released in Fall 2021. If you would like to support Kenneth’s re-entry, please consider donating to his trust or sharing his story with others at the buttons below. 100% of Vimeo rental revenues in 2021 will go toward the Kenneth Ray Young Trust Fund.

Following the release of 15 to Life on PBS, director Nadine Pequeneza worked with the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth, to share Kenneth’s story with legislators tasked with rewriting sentencing law to conform with the recent U.S. Supreme Court Grahame and Miller decisions. Since then, 23 states and DC have banned JLWOP and six states have no one serving JLWOP.

Explore an interactive timeline about how the film supported the movement to end juvenile life without parole. The film’s Impact Story was created by filmmaker Nadine Pequeneza and CFSY’s legislative advocate James Dold, and supported by the Fledgling Engagement Lab.
